Well, it’s Christmas Eve! It still kind of shocks me a bit every time I think about it! Things are going well here in Uganda… yesterday was spent at a place called Kingfisher Resort. We packed a big picnic and spend the day there, swimming, eating, and relaxing. Kerri and I ate alot of jackfruit and mangoes and pineapple, but we figured it’s better than eating candy and desserts and all the things we normally eat too much of at Christmas!

My quiet times with the Lord had been feeling a bit dry lately, but as I was reading my Bible this morning, He gave me a verse and I thought it was pretty cool. I was reading Hosea chapter 4, but I accidentally flipped ahead too far, and I read this verse that really struck me.
“Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge Him. As surely as the sun rises, He will appear; He will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” -Hosea 6:3
Isn’t He good? He always shows up to give me just what I need! If we will only press on, hungering after His Spirit, God will reveal Himself to us and draw us deeper into His presence. The word “deeper” is key… I long to go so much deeper with God and I pray He will draw me ever closer and reveal to me the deep things, the longings of His heart.

I hope this Christmas is a time of just resting in the goodness and faithfulness of Christ! May God bless you all and draw you deeper into His wonders and mysteries. Merry Christmas!!!

It is always fun to read your blogs and learn about what you are doing. Enjoy your time with your cousin. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
