I made it safely back to J-Bay! I survived a night by myself in a hotel in Entebbe, Uganda, an early early morning, and a long flight and now I’m back in South Africa. It still feels kind of weird to be back… it’ll probably take me a little while to settle in once again.
I am so glad I spent the last month in Uganda with my cousin, Kerri. She is awesome and we have so many good memories together. Being away from home at Christmas was hard, but I think I learned and grew from it, and there’s always next year to be at home. I also got to see my aunt and uncle for about half a day when they came to visit Kerri, but then I had to leave Uganda, but it was still so good to see family.
And it’s my birthday today!!! I’m now 19… I wasn’t sure if I wanted to be 19 yet but I guess I don’t really have a choice! lol. We’re going to go out for a nice supper tonight which should be really fun. It’s been really good to see my team mates again and catch up on the last month of our lives.
My wish for this year is simply that God would draw me deeper into His presence, that I would completely surrender to Him, and that His identity would be more and more built into me. I still don’t know what I’m going to do when I leave Africa, but God will be faithful and no matter what happens I know He has the best in mind for me.
God bless… keep me in your prayers, especially for good health so I”ll have the energy to keep going in ministry. God is good!
